Technical Writing
My writing is clear, accurate, organized, and appropriate
to the audience and the task. I apply these same principles to editing the
work of others.
I can write or edit:
- Tutorials
- Coursework
- Tech notes
- Brochures
- General catalogs
- Quality systems documentation
- Test methods
- Procedures
- Policies
- Manuals
- etc.
In any project, I will maintain and distribute clear and usable documentation
of actions taken, lessons learned, conclusions drawn, and decisions made.
Examples of my work include:
- The SPIE Field Guide to Optical Fabrication
http://spie.org/x648.html?product_id=892101
- Shop Math Course (see syllabus)
- Optician Apprentice Training (a six-month training course)
- An inexpensive method to evaluate and optimize spot tool performance
for the small optical shop (published in "Selected SPIE Papers on CD-ROM -
Optical Fabrication, ed. Daniel Malacara)
- VLOC catalogs (the General Catalog won an
Excellence award in the Florida Technical Communication Competition)
- VLOC MIL-I-45208A Quality System including policies, procedures, methods and
forms
- Polarization Tutorial
